The Hanover County Registrar's Department handles Ashland elections and ballots.

Why do I pay both Town of Ashland and Hanover County taxes?
The Town of Ashland and Hanover County provide different services to citizens. The Town of Ashland acts as additional level of services on top of, and in addition to, those provided by Hanover County. In particular, Town of Ashland residents receive trash collection and recylcing pickup, police response times of approximately one minute, and brush and leaf pick-up.
