Overview

Welcome to the Town of Ashland's Parks and Recreation Department! As the “Center of the Universe,” Ashland offers a variety of unique and engaging parks, trails, and recreational opportunities to reach a diverse community of citizens and visitors. Whether it’s jumping into Carter Park Pool, watching passing trains on Railside Trail, or taking a nature walk in DeJarnette Park, Ashland has a park or program for you!

Vision

The Town of Ashland seeks to be an attractive community for people of diverse backgrounds to live, work, shop, and play with play being an important factor in the health & happiness of Ashland’s residents.

Parks and Programs

The Town currently maintains four parks and numerous trails. These parks include a variety of seasonal activities such as a swimming pool, playground equipment, fishing pond, skate park, basketball courts, and picnic shelters.

Our Trolley Line Trail will eventually connect to Petersburg and the communities in between through the Fall Line Trail. To learn more about the 43-mile Fall Line Trail visit its site.
