Welcome to the Town of Ashland's Parks and Recreation Department! As the “Center of the Universe,” Ashland offers a variety of unique and engaging parks, trails, and recreational opportunities to reach a diverse community of citizens and visitors. Whether it’s jumping into Carter Park Pool, watching passing trains on Railside Trail, or taking a nature walk in DeJarnette Park, Ashland has a park or program for you!
What We Offer
The Town currently maintains four parks and numerous trails. These parks include a variety of seasonal activities such as a swimming pool, playground equipment, fishing pond, skate park, basketball courts, and picnic shelters.

Our Trolley Line Trail will eventually connect to Petersburg and the communities in between. To learn more about the 43-mile Fall Line Trail visit its site.

The Parks & Recreation Department is committed to healthy, safe, and welcoming parks that improve the well-being of our citizens. That's why we've partnered with the Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth's "Share the Air" campaign to designate our parks and trails as tobacco and e-cigarette free.
