Composting is a great way to use brush collected on your property in a way that can improve the soil of your yard and garden for little to no cost. The Virginia Cooperative Extension has an informative publication that will give you everything you need to know to get started!
Mixed residential yard debris that is collected by the town’s street crew is periodically chipped and shredded, turned into mulch, and made available to residents on a first-come / first-served, self-serve basis. This mulch is available at the Town Shop, located at 100 West Vaughan Road. Residents may stop by any time during daylight hours to collect the mulch.
