College Park Improvements

College Park rain garden
Year Constructed: 2013

Funding: Local Funding

Type of Improvement: Stormwater Management and Neighborhood Improvement

Benefit of Improvement: Improves both neighborhood drainage and aesthetics; improves water quality of stormwater runoff and detains water to reduce the potential for downgradient flooding
Additional Information: This project includes Pave Drain brand permeable pavers and a bio-retention area. This system is designed to remove surface water during storms, store it under the permeable pavers, and convey it to the bio-retention area. The bio-retention area is constructed so that water is filtered in the soil media and then stored in an underground detention area before it is slowly released to the storm sewer system.
