Continuing the journey of the death penalty in the Commonwealth. tracing its roots back to white supremacy, racism and lynching. Black men historically were executed faster, far more often, and for such non-fatal crimes as assault and highway robbery. No white man was executed for a crime against a Black person until 1997. Presented by Dale M. Brumfield, Anti-death penalty advocate, cultural archaeologist, “American Grotesk” historyteller and author of 12 books.
