For the 23rd consecutive year, the Arbor Day Foundation and National Association of State Foresters has named Town of Ashland a Tree City USA. The long-standing designation is a tribute to the Town's dedication to conservation and sustainable growth.
There are four standards the Town must meet to qualify for the Tree City USA designation. These include having an active tree board, a tree care ordinance, a community forestry program with an annual budget of at least two dollars per capita, and an Arbor Day observance and proclamation. The Town met and exceeded what was required for the designation and is pleased to be recognized for its continuing efforts.
