The Town of Ashland has recently accepted the resignation of Dallin Kimble, who served more than two years as the clerk of council, management analyst, and parks coordinator for the Town. Kimble is leaving to accept the deputy county administrator position in Mariposa, California.
Kimble was an integral part of the teams that drafted the Town’s first strategic plan, organized and conducted the Ashland Citizen Leadership Academy, redesigned a simpler and market-based employee compensation program, implemented online broadcasts and archives of town meetings and numerous other projects touching every department within the Town. Professional honors received while with the Town included young professional scholarships from the Virginia Municipal Clerk Association and the International City/County Manager Association and completion of the University of Virginia’s prestigious "Leading, Educating and Developing" (LEAD) program.
“It was a hard decision to leave,” Kimble said. “My family and I have really enjoyed living and working in the Center of the Universe. We’ve made many great friends here. There are so many exciting projects going on in Town. Ashland is a place that is easy to fall in love with and I think it has a really bright future. We’re incredibly grateful for all the opportunities we’ve had here. Ultimately, it was just time for me to take the next step in my career and to be closer to our extended family.” Town Manager Charles Hartgrove added “We are proud of Dallin’s many accomplishments and contributions as a member of the Town’s leadership team. I know he will bring a high level of professionalism, enthusiasm, and innovation to Mariposa County’s government. We wish Dallin and his family well as they move back west.”
The Town will immediately begin a recruitment process for Kimble’s vacated position. His last day will be May 4.
