The Town of Ashland brings LOVE to Downtown Ashland
Visitors encouraged to take pictures and share on social media with #LOVEVA
ASHLAND, VA (June 1, 2021) – The Town of Ashland is hosting Virginia Tourism’s life-sized LOVE artwork from Tuesday, June 1 to Monday, June 7 on the Town Hall Lawn (121 Thompson Street) as part of a state and local partnership to promote tourism in the Commonwealth.
"Virginia is for Lovers is about doing the things you love to do on a vacation with the people you love most," said Rita McClenny, president and CEO of the Virginia Tourism Corporation. "We are excited to share the LOVE at location where so many people can enjoy being a part of it, helping them to discover for themselves why Virginia is for Lovers.”
Ashland welcomes visitors from near and far. Whether they’re visiting one of our great events, such as Fourth Fridays, Ashland Fellowship & Bike Festival, and the Strawberry Faire, shopping for that next art piece to decorate a home, or taking a pitstop on their drive south, Ashland has something for every visitor. For more information about eating, shopping, and staying in town contact the Ashland / Hanover Visitor Center at 800-897-1479 or visit www.visitashlandva.com.
“We are so fortunate to have a community that welcomes visitors with open arms,” said Joshua Farrar, Ashland’s Town Manager. “No matter if you’re from the region or out-of-state, our restaurants, shops, hotels, and events make every visitor feel like family. To celebrate the beginning of summer, the inaugural Ashland Fellowship & Bike Festival, and the near completion of a couple major construction projects we wanted to add some LOVE(works) downtown.”
