The Town of Ashland has been designated as a level 8 community by the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) Community Rating System (CRS). This recent change in designation means that Town residents may now be able to receive a discount on their flood insurance.
CRS is a voluntary incentive program that recognizes and encourages community floodplain management practices that exceed the minimum requirements. Approximately 1,500 communities participate nationwide. The Town works to prevent flood damage, reduce the cost of insurance, and save lives by fostering comprehensive floodplain management and education programs.
The floodplain management activities implemented by the Town qualify Ashland residents for a 10% discount on flood insurance premiums for most NFIP policies issued or renewed on or after October 1, 2022. To determine your eligibility for this discount, contact your flood insurance provider directly.
